Library at the Shopping with Friends Brunch above Cara Valentine & Lauren Lail
Shopping with Friends is an amazing event that benefits the Lowcountry AIDS Services. Along with all of the other fun happenings that go on that day, this year there was the addition of the Vintage Village at the Saturday morning brunch. Library, along with four other vintage puryevors in the area set up booths to sell our wares. The event was a huge success and we were so happy to take part in helping this great organization and such a wonderful day. Sorry about the holiday hiatus on the blog! You know it’s been a long time since you posted when your husband and brother are saying “you need to update your blog!” Meanwhile, I’ve been out of town with both of them and I’m wondering when they thought I would have had the time for that? You gotta love ‘em, though! Anywho, I know it’s been a long time, but I’m back and brought some amazing new additions to the Library collection.
As a little girl, my mom and grandma were always buying me lace dresses – I’m talking every Christmas picture or special occasion, they somehow snuck lace in on me. When I would visit my grandma what made her happier than anything was to see me in a girly lace dress and oh, my hair had to be long too! She never quite liked it when it was short. Because of times like those…there is truly something special about lace to me. It’s nostaligic – simple as that. It’s one of those materials that evokes a lot of memories for me…really good memories.
I noticed on my last trip that I came back with a handful of lace pieces – they can be beautifully worn this time of year, styled as layering pieces and will flawlessly transition to be worn on their own this Spring. Here are my favorites…and one amazing piece I previously collected – the Chanel blouse.

Lace Underlay Slip Dress $58.00

Lace Blouse $88

Lace Sleeve Dress $98

Chanel Lace Blouse $505
***I found this picture of Rachel McAdams wearing a dress from Stella McCartney’s 2010 Resort Line at the Deauville American Film Festival and it reminded me of the Library Lace Sleeve Dress pictured above. The necklines are different, but the concept is the same – a beautiful lace top anchored by a simple black bottom! EXQUISITE!

Oh, what a night!!! The Novel. Opening Party was more than we could have ever asked for! Thank you to everyone who came out to support Library, Balboa, Jane Pope Jewelry, Margo Kaufman Gallery, Kirsten Moran & Daniel McSweeney!!! The crowd was insane and the atmosphere was “very Soho,” - this is a quote I got from not one, not two, but three peeps at the party! The dj Taylor Massey was amazing and so was the food from Made from Scratch by Elizabeth Allen. We hope you come and check us out for all of the happenings we have going for the rest of the month. The next event is the Black Friday Market, the Friday & Saturday following Thanksgiving and then Way Way Allen will be showing her work on December 3rd, check her out at www.bluechickeadee.com!
